The game started with immediate action, as Youngsville jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning. Two passed balls allowed runs to score, giving Youngsville a quick 2–0 advantage. Chicago, however, answered right back in the bottom of the first, putting pressure on the Youngsville defense and capitalizing on mistakes. An error allowed one run to score, followed by back-to-back RBI singles from Rangel C and Emiliano A, giving Chicago a 3–2 lead. Youngsville regained control in the second inning after more defensive miscues from Chicago. Two more runs scored on passed balls, flipping the score back in Youngsville’s favor, 4–3.
Chicago continued to battle, tying the game at 4–4 in the bottom of the second thanks to a solid RBI single to left by Jacob R. But Youngsville seized the momentum for good in the top of the third with a four-run rally. C. C. kicked off the frame with an RBI single, followed by a clutch two-run double from C. B. Another passed ball allowed a run to cross, giving Youngsville an 8–4 lead.
From there, Youngsville never looked back. The offense added key insurance runs, while the bullpen delivered steady work to hold Chicago at bay. C. pitched effectively in relief, tossing three and one-third innings and giving up just three runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking only one. H. M. got the start on the mound for Youngsville and worked two and one-third innings, allowing six hits and four runs — only one of which was earned. Chicago’s Noah J. started on the mound and struck out seven batters over three innings but was tagged for eight runs — four earned — on four hits and three walks.
At the plate, Youngsville saw contributions throughout the lineup. H. led the way with two hits in four at-bats, while C. drove in two runs and reached base multiple times. C. also drew two walks as Youngsville displayed great discipline, working eight total walks as a team. The Louisiana squad stayed aggressive on the basepaths as well, swiping seven bags, including two from G. H.
Chicago's offense tallied 13 hits in the loss. Jacob R. had a standout performance, going 4-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI. Emiliano A. and Rangel C. each drove in two runs, and Joaquin H. added two hits of his own. Game 6: Chesterfield, VA (1) vs. Ponce, Puerto Rico (14)
Ponce, Puerto Rico erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning to break open a close contest and cruise to a commanding 14–1 win over Chesterfield, Virginia on Saturday afternoon at the Youngsville Sports Complex. The game was competitive early, but Ponce’s offense exploded in the fourth, capitalizing on a mix of aggressive baserunning, patient at-bats, and clutch hitting. The inning featured a thrilling steal of home that plated two runs, igniting the dugout and the crowd. Angel M and Leifden C each delivered RBI singles, while Eyden Q and Lesdriel T drew bases-loaded walks to extend the lead. Alvaro S followed with another RBI single, and Sebastian O capped the rally with a groundout that brought in two more runs.
Ponce wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking for two runs in the top of the first. Matias R knocked a single to the left side to plate the first run, and Franklin P added another with a productive groundout. In the second, a wild pitch allowed one run to cross, followed by an RBI single to center field by Sebastian O to make it 4–0. Another wild pitch in the third inning made it 5–0, setting the stage for the fourth-inning breakout that put the game well out of reach.
On the mound, Leifden C delivered a solid start for Ponce, allowing just four hits and one run across three innings. He didn’t issue a walk and struck out one. Lesdriel T followed with a clean inning of relief, giving up only one hit and keeping Chesterfield off the board. Offensively, Ponce showed both patience and power. The team drew 11 walks in the game and recorded six hits, with Leifden leading the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Angel M, Sebastian O, and Leifden each drove in a run, while Alvaro S set the tone with three walks. The team also showed discipline on the basepaths, adding pressure to Chesterfield’s defense with multiple steals and heads-up plays.

Game 7: West Covina, CA (3) vs. Weslaco, TX (0)
Runs were at a premium on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex, as West Covina, California leaned on stellar pitching and sharp defense to shut out Weslaco, Texas 3–0. Ethan Y was dominant on the mound for West Covina, going the distance in a six-inning shutout. The right-hander allowed just three hits, struck out six, and didn’t issue a single run, effectively keeping Weslaco’s offense quiet from start to finish.
West Covina, California capitalized early, plating all three of their runs in the bottom of the first inning. The scoring began with back-to-back defensive miscues by Weslaco, Texas, allowing two runs to cross the plate. Another run came home later in the inning on a third error, giving West Covina all the offense they would need.
Despite the early trouble, Weslaco’s starting pitcher Kaleb M settled in and turned in a solid performance of his own. The right-hander went four innings, allowing four hits and three unearned runs while striking out six and walking three. West Covina’s offense did just enough to support their ace. Brandon B paced the lineup with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, consistently finding barrels in a game dominated by pitching. Offensively, the team totaled four hits but remained disciplined and aggressive on the basepaths when chances arose.
Defensively, West Covina was flawless, playing clean baseball in the field and avoiding mistakes. Andrew H led the way with four defensive chances, and the team’s infield chemistry kept Weslaco off the scoreboard. For Weslaco, number-seven hitter Gian J was a bright spot, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. He was responsible for two of the team’s three hits and continued to show depth in the lower part of the lineup.
Though the scoreboard didn’t reflect it, the game was a tight battle marked by impressive pitching from both sides. West Covina, California’s ability to take advantage of early miscues and back it up with six innings of shutout baseball proved to be the difference in a well-fought contest.

Game 8: Shenzhen, China (2) vs. Los Mochis, Mexico (1)
In a tightly contested game on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex, Ahome Los Mochis, Mexico fell just short in a 2–1 loss to Shenzhen, China. Despite outhitting Shenzhen six to one and playing clean defense, a late fourth-inning run proved to be the difference. Ahome Los Mochis struck first in the top of the opening inning. Derek G delivered an RBI single to right field, scoring Victor M and putting Mexico on top 1–0 early.
Shenzhen responded in the bottom of the second. After putting pressure on the defense, Jiahong C grounded out, allowing the tying run to cross the plate and evening the score at 1–1. The turning point came in the bottom of the fourth. With the game still tied and the bases loaded, Shenzhen’s Yingtong L showed patience at the plate and drew a walk, forcing in the go-ahead run. That run would prove to be the game-winner, as Ahome Los Mochis couldn’t find a response in the final innings.
Although they came up short, Ahome Los Mochis played a solid all-around game. They collected six hits as a team — with Victor M, Sebastian Z, Derek G, Angel I, Sebastian G, and Jose Alonso S each contributing one. Derek also led the team with the lone RBI. On the basepaths, Sebastian G swiped two bases to help create scoring chances. Defensively, the Mexican squad was flawless, committing no errors, while catcher Francisco C was a steady presence behind the plate with seven defensive chances. Jose Alonso S delivered a strong performance on the mound for Ahome Los Mochis. The right-hander pitched all five innings, allowing just one hit and two earned runs, striking out six and walking three in a tough-luck loss.
For Shenzhen, Yihang G started the game and gave up two hits and one run over 1.2 innings. The bullpen kept Mexico off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Offensively, Yingtong led the team with one hit and the game-winning RBI, while Jiahong C also drove in a run with a productive groundout. Despite the loss, Ahome Los Mochis, Mexico showed resilience, solid fundamentals, and pitching depth. It was a game decided by the smallest of margins, and the team will look to bounce back in their next matchup with the same grit and determination they showed on Saturday.
