Game One: Costa Mesa, CA 18, Des Moines, IA 1

Costa Mesa defeated Des Moines 18-1 on Friday at Twins Field. O’Toole drew a walk, scoring a run, Kennedy singled, scoring a run, Dunham drew a walk, scoring a run, Tu drew a walk, scoring a run, a wild pitch scored a run, Oliver singled, scoring two runs, Andrew singled, scoring a run, O’Toole singled, scoring a run, and Jennings singled, scoring a run.

Costa Mesa added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Dunham singled, Tu doubled, Benoit singled, and O’Toole singled, each scoring a run.

Costa Mesa again added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Dunham singled, scoring a run, Tu doubled, scoring a run, and Benoit singled, scoring two runs.

Elijah began the game for Costa Mesa. They allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Kannin R led things off on the mound for Des Moines. They surrendered one hit and four runs over a third of an inning, striking out one and walking two. Tanner L appeared in relief for Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa piled up 15 hits in the game. Kennedy led Costa Mesa with three hits in three at bats. Benoit, Nicholas, Dunham, Oliver, and Tu each drove in two runs for Costa Mesa. Andrew collected two hits for Costa Mesa in four at bats. Benoit, Dunham, Oliver, and Tu each stole multiple bases for Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa stole 14 bases in the game. Costa Mesa were steady in the field and didn't commit a single error. 

 

Bell, Immel, Swenson, and Smith each collected one hit for Des Moines.

Game Two: Tijuana, Mexico 10, Tokyo, Japan 0

Tijuana defeated Tokyo 10-0 on Friday at Supreme Rice Field due to eight runs in the fourth inning.

Tijuana were the first to get on the board when Leal hit a fly, scoring a run.

A ground out by S. Sustaita extended the Tijuana lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning.

Tijuana scored eight runs on seven hits in the top of the fourth inning. Escalera doubled, scoring one run, Flores tripled, scoring two runs, Jauregui singled, scoring a run, S. Sustaita singled, scoring a run, and Leal doubled, scoring two runs.

Llamas earned the win for Tijuana. They gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings. Kurabayashi opened the game for Tokyo. The pitcher allowed 10 hits and 10 runs over four innings, striking out one and walking two.

Kataoka went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Tokyo in hits. Kataoka stole three bases.

Tijuana tallied 10 hits in the game. Jauregui, Leal, and Jiménez each collected two hits for Tijuana. Leal provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tijuana with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-2 on the day. Tijuana didn't commit a single error in the field. Jauregui had the most chances in the field with seven.

Game Three: Laredo, TX 18, Youngsville, LA 2

Laredo defeated Youngsville 18-2 on Saturday at Twins Field largely due to 15 runs in the third inning.

Laredo got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lopez tripled, Hennessey doubled, and Onofre walked, each scoring a run.

Laredo scored 15 runs on 10 hits in the bottom of the third inning. Onofre drew a walk, scoring a run, Vasquez doubled, scoring two runs, Palma drew a walk, scoring a run, Lopez singled, scoring two runs, Hennessey singled, scoring a run, Gonzalez tripled, scoring two runs, Onofre doubled, scoring a run, Fuentes III drew a walk, scoring a run, Garza singled, scoring two runs, and Palma singled, scoring two runs.

Kirk started on the mound for Youngsville. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over a third of an inning, striking out none and walking one. Onofre started the game for Laredo. They surrendered one hit and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two.

Andrus and Arceneaux each collected one hit for Youngsville. Arceneaux went 1-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in.

Laredo gathered 14 hits in the game. Elizondo and Hennessey each collected three hits for Laredo. Palma and Lopez were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Laredo. Laredo had patience at the plate, gathering eight walks for the game. Elizondo, Hennessey, Lopez, and Onofre each stole multiple bases for Laredo. Laredo also stole 18 bases in the game. Laredo were steady handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. 

Game Four: West Raleigh, NC 10, Guayaquil, EC 7

West Raleigh took down Guayaquil 10-7 on Saturday at Supreme Rice Field.

West Raleigh got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Norris singled, Cleveland singled, and Guayaquil committed an error, each scoring a run.

West Raleigh scored seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the second. Marlowe doubled, scoring two runs, Drake doubled, scoring a run, Norris singled, scoring a run, Edge grounded out, scoring two runs, and Rahe grounded out, scoring a run.

Goebbel earned the win for West Raleigh. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over two-thirds of one inning, striking out one and walking one. Pierce opened the game for West Raleigh. They allowed two hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking three. Vaca stepped on the mound first for Guayaquil. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Childress, Drake, and Strahler each appeared in relief for West Raleigh.

Drake and Norris were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for West Raleigh while hitting back-to-back. Norris and Marlowe each drove in two runs for West Raleigh. Cleveland stole three bases. West Raleigh collected seven stolen bases for the game.

Merchan and Cedeño each collected two hits for Guayaquil. Alcivar, Cedeño, and Castillo each drove in one run for Guayaquil. Guayaquil had patience at the plate, accumulating 12 walks for the game. Ching and Mieles led the team with two bases on balls each. Merchan and Castillo each stole multiple bases for Guayaquil. 

Game Five: Des Moines, IA 17, Youngsville, LA 3

Eisentrager drove in five runs on three hits to lead Des Moines past Youngsville 17-3 on Saturday at Supreme Rice Field. Eisentrager tripled in the third scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.

Des Moines got on the board in the top of the first inning after Eisentrager singled, scoring a run, Henry tripled, scoring three runs, Newton singled, scoring a run, an error scored a run, and Easton I doubled, scoring a run.

An out by Eisentrager extended the Des Moines lead to 8-1 in the top of the second inning.

Des Moines scored six runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Smith singled, scoring a run, Immel drew a walk, scoring a run, Swenson grounded out, scoring a run, a dropped third strike scored a run, and Eisentrager tripled, scoring two runs.

Arceneaux took the loss for Youngsville. The starting pitcher went one-third of an inning, giving up seven runs on three hits, walking three. Smith pitched three innings of scoreless ball for Des Moines in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out seven and walking none.

Des Moines collected 11 hits in the game. Newton collected two hits for Des Moines in three at bats. Des Moines had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Immel and LaFleur led the team with two bases on balls each. Immel, Newton, Bell, and LaFleur each stole multiple bases for Des Moines. 

Derge and Williams were a strong force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Youngsville. Hodges provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Youngsville with two runs batted in. 

Game Six: Guayaquil, EC 8, Tokyo, JP 6

Guayaquil took Saturday's game with an 8-6 walk-off victory over Tokyo at Twins Field. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth when Mieles doubled, scoring two runs.

Guayaquil got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Merchan doubled, and Mieles singled, each scoring a run.

Tokyo flipped the game in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 6-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Nisimura that drove in two.

Guayaquil made the score 8-6 in the bottom of the sixth after a wild pitch scored a run, and Mieles doubled, scoring two runs.

Merchan started the game for Guayaquil. They allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Imoto led things off on the hill for Tokyo. They surrendered three hits and two runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking two. Castillo threw an inning of zero-run ball for Guayaquil in relief. They allowed one hit, striking out three and walking one.

Guayaquil piled up 12 hits in the game. Cañarle, Vaca, and Mieles each collected two hits for Guayaquil. Mieles led Guayaquil with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Guayaquil had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Cedeño and Castillo led the team with two free passes each. Cedeño, Vaca, and Castillo each stole multiple bases for Guayaquil. Guayaquil ran wild on the base paths, tallying 12 stolen bases for the game. Guayaquil were steady-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ching made the most plays with eight.

Nisimura, Kataoka, and Hanyu each collected one hit for Tokyo. Nisimura went 1-for-2 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. Yoshioka paced Tokyo with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Dairaku and Yoshioka each stole multiple bases for Tokyo. Tokyo stole six bases in the game. Tokyo were steady-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. 

Game Seven: Costa Mesa, CA 6, Laredo, TX 5

Costa Mesa got out to a 6-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Laredo on Saturday. Laredo closed the gap by scoring on a double and a double.

Costa Mesa got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after O’Toole doubled, Jennings tripled, and Kennedy singled, each scoring a run.

Costa Mesa added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Andrew doubled, O’Toole singled, and Laredo committed an error, each scoring a run.

Tu earned the win for Costa Mesa. They allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Zapata took the loss for Laredo. They went three innings, surrendering six runs on nine hits, striking out none and walking none. Kennedy and Oliver each appeared in relief for Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa accumulated 10 hits in the game. Kennedy led Costa Mesa with three hits in three at bats. O’Toole provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Costa Mesa with two runs batted in. Costa Mesa were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.

Gonzalez and Hennessey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Laredo. Gonzalez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Laredo with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Laredo turned one double play in the game.

Game Eight: Tijuana, MX 7, West Raleigh, NC 6

Tijuana and West Raleigh finished 7-6 on Saturday at Twins Field.

A tag up by Flores put Tijuana on the board in the bottom of the first.

West Raleigh took the lead in the top of the third inning after Marlowe singled, and Norris grounded out, each scoring a run.

Tijuana took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jiménez walked, and Vejar doubled, each scoring one run.

West Raleigh captured the lead, 5-3, in the top of the fourth when Goebbel singled, scoring one run, and Pierce doubled, scoring two runs.

Tijuana jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Escalera singled, scoring two runs, and Vejar drew a walk, scoring one run.

West Raleigh scored on a wild pitch, which helped West Raleigh tie the game at six in the top of the fifth.

Peña pitched three innings in relief for Tijuana. They surrendered three hits and four runs while striking out four and walking two. Jiménez opened the game for Tijuana. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Norris stepped on the hill first for West Raleigh. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and six runs over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three.

Peña and Llamas each collected two hits for Tijuana. Escalera and Vejar each drove in two runs for Tijuana. Gutiérrez stole two bases. Tijuana stole seven bases in the game. Tijuana were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Flores had the most chances in the field with five.

Grayson, Marlowe, Goebbel, Pierce, and Norris each collected one hit for West Raleigh. Pierce went 1-for-1 at the plate as they led the team with two runs batted in. Grayson, Harris, Marlowe, Goebbel, and Norris each stole multiple bases for West Raleigh. West Raleigh stole 12 bases in the game. West Raleigh turned two double plays in the game.

Game Nine: Des Moines, IA 8, Laredo, TX 2

Des Moines easily dispatched Laredo on Sunday at Twins Field, 8-2.

Des Moines jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Henry doubled, scoring a run, a wild pitch scored two runs, and Immel drew a walk, scoring a run.

A single by Eisentrager extended the Des Moines lead to 5-1 in the top of the third inning.

Immel began the game for Des Moines. They surrendered zero hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking four. Garza started on the mound for Laredo. They surrendered two hits and three runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Bell appeared in relief for Des Moines.

Bell, LaFleur, and Todd each collected two hits for Des Moines. Immel went 1-for-3 at the plate as the leadoff hitter.

Laredo ran wild on the base paths, accumulating eight stolen bases for the game. Palma, Elizondo, and Gonzalez each stole multiple bases for Laredo. 

Consolation Game: Youngsville, LA 6, Tokyo, JP 5

Derge was dominant on the mound, as they rang up 12 strikeouts in Youngsville's 6-5 victory over Tokyo on Sunday. Derge gave up one hit and four runs over five innings while walking three.

Despite falling down by four runs in the third inning, Tokyo tried to fight back. Tokyo closed the gap by scoring on one single, an error, and a single.

Youngsville got on the board in the first inning after C. Andrus hit an inside the park home run.

Youngsville added one run in the second after Tokyo made an error.

Youngsville added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Derge singled, and B. Andrus grounded out, each scoring one run.

Tokyo tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Imoto, an error, and a passed ball.

Youngsville captured the lead, 6-4, in the top of the sixth after B. Andrus singled, and Dalton singled, each scoring a run.

The pitcher for Tokyo allowed three hits and four runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Jacob K appeared in relief for Youngsville.

Dalton and Derge each collected two hits for Youngsville. B. Andrus and C. Andrus each drove in one run for Youngsville. Dalton and Derge each stole multiple bases for Youngsville. Youngsville ran wild on the base paths, amassing nine stolen bases for the game.

Imoto and Dairaku each collected one hit for Tokyo. Imoto led Tokyo with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-1 on the day. Dairaku stole three bases. Tokyo ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game.

Game Ten: West Raleigh, NC 6, Guayaquil, EC 0

West Raleigh built their lead a few runs at a time in a 6-0 victory over Guayaquil on Sunday.

West Raleigh opened the scoring in the top of the second due to two singles. West Raleigh first got on the board when Childress singled, scoring a run.

West Raleigh added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Pierce singled, and Cleveland grounded out, each scoring a run.

Mieles stepped on the hill first for Guayaquil. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and five runs over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Edge led things off on the hill for West Raleigh. They surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking none.

Vaca and Dáger each collected one hit for Guayaquil. Guayaquil turned two double plays in the game. Guayaquil were steady-handed and didn't commit a single error. Vaca made the most plays with seven.

Childress and Harris were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for West Raleigh. Cleveland, Childress, Edge, Harris, Pierce, and Norris each drove in one run for West Raleigh. Edge, Goebbel, and Marlowe each stole multiple bases for West Raleigh. West Raleigh stole 10 bases in the game.

Game Eleven: Des Moines, IA , Costa Mesa, CA

Costa Mesa defeated Des Moines 16-5 on Sunday at Twins Field due to nine runs in the fourth inning.

Costa Mesa got on the board in the top of the first inning after Andrew singled, O’Toole singled, and Kennedy grounded out, each scoring a run.

Des Moines tied the game up in the bottom of the first due to three doubles. Des Moines tied the game at three on a double by Ross.

Costa Mesa took the lead in the top of the second. Jennings doubled, scoring one run, to give Costa Mesa the upper hand, 4-3.

Costa Mesa added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Dunham singled, Tu grounded out, and Jennings singled, each scoring one run.

Costa Mesa scored nine runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. Andrew singled, scoring a run, Kennedy singled, scoring a run, Dunham grounded out, scoring a run, Tu singled, scoring two runs, Benoit singled, scoring two runs, Oliver drew a walk, scoring a run, and Andrew doubled, scoring a run.

Swenson began the game for Des Moines. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and 10 runs over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking one. O’Toole opened the game for Costa Mesa. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking two.

Swenson, Eisentrager, and LaFleur each collected two hits for Des Moines. Eisentrager drove the middle of the lineup, leading Des Moines with two runs batted in. The hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Immel stole three bases. Des Moines were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Immel made the most plays with four.

Costa Mesa tallied 15 hits in the game. Andrew led Costa Mesa with three hits in four at bats. Benoit, Jennings, O’Toole, and Tu each collected multiple hits for Costa Mesa. Andrew, Benoit, Jennings, O’Toole, Oliver, and Tu each stole multiple bases for Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa ran wild on the base paths, piling up 23 stolen bases for the game. Costa Mesa didn't commit a single error in the field. 

Game Twelve: Tijuana, MX 14, West Raleigh, NC 13

Tijuana took Sunday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 14-13 walk-off victory over West Raleigh. The game was tied at 13 in the bottom of the sixth when Leal singled, scoring a run.

Tijuana collected nine hits and West Raleigh had 11 in the high-scoring game.

West Raleigh jumped to the lead in the top of the first inning after Grayson singled, scoring a run, Cleveland tripled, scoring two runs, and Rahe grounded out, scoring a run.

Tijuana flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on two hits to take a 6-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Bruno that drove in one.

A walk by Escalera extended the Tijuana lead to 7-4 in the bottom of the second inning.

West Raleigh tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a ground out by Harris, and a double by Cleveland.

Leal pitched five innings in relief for Tijuana. They allowed eight hits and eight runs while striking out two and walking one. Escalera opened the game for Tijuana. The pitcher allowed one hit and three runs over a third of an inning, striking out none and walking two.

Jiménez and Leal each collected two hits for Tijuana. Juarez and Jiménez each drove in two runs for Tijuana. Tijuana had patience at the plate, amassing 13 walks for the game. Flores, Escalera, and Leal led the team with two free passes each. Sustaita stole three bases. Tijuana turned one double play in the game.

West Raleigh tallied 11 hits in the game. Grayson and Cleveland each collected three hits for West Raleigh. Cleveland provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Raleigh with five runs batted in. The left fielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Marlowe collected two hits for West Raleigh in three at bats. Grayson, Childress, and Goebbel each stole multiple bases for West Raleigh. West Raleigh stole six bases in the game. West Raleigh turned one double play in the game.

Championship Game: Costa Mesa, CA 17, Tijuana, MX 7

Costa Mesa defeated Tijuana 17-7 on Monday thanks in part to 11 runs in the ninth inning.

Costa Mesa jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Kennedy singled, scoring one run, Tu grounded out, scoring one run, Benoit singled, scoring one run, and Oliver doubled, scoring two runs.

Tijuana captured the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fourth when a dropped third strike scored one run, Flores singled, scoring one run, and Vejar singled, scoring two runs.

Llamas balked, which helped Costa Mesa tie the game at six in the top of the fifth.

Costa Mesa flipped the game on its head in the top of the ninth, scoring 11 runs on 10 hits to take a 17-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Benoit that drove in three.

Oliver earned the win for Costa Mesa. They surrendered five hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking three. Llamas took the loss for Tijuana. The starting pitcher went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking none. Tu stepped on the hill first for Costa Mesa. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two.

Tijuana piled up 11 hits in the game. Tijuana's Peña made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with three hits in five at bats. Vejar drove the middle of the lineup, leading Tijuana with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Flores collected two hits for Tijuana in four at bats.

Costa Mesa collected 20 hits in the game. Benoit, Jennings, and Oliver each collected three hits for Costa Mesa. Elijah seized on their opportunities, leading Costa Mesa with four runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. They went 3-for-5 on the day. Andrew, Kennedy, LaLonde, Dunham, and Tu each collected multiple hits for Costa Mesa. Kennedy and Oliver each stole multiple bases for Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa ran wild on the base paths, amassing nine stolen bases for the game. Costa Mesa were steady-handed and didn't commit a single error. Kennedy made the most plays with 11.
