2021 DAY ONE RECAP

Day One Recap, 2021

GAME 1: PUERTO RICO 7, WINTER PARK OPTIMIST 17

Winter Park battled back to take the lead and defeated Puerto Rico 17-7 on Saturday.

Both teams collected ten hits each. Puerto Rico got things going in the first inning when Dylan Irizarry hit an RBI.

Winter Park Optimist had a strong fifth inning, scoring seven runs. Carter Shoffner, Ridge W, Judah Gillespie, Bennett Bush, and Brody Bormann, all drove in runs.

Aiden Mayer-Young was on the mound for Winter Park Optimist. He went two thirds of an inning allowing two runs on two hits.

Irizarry got the start for Puerto Rico. He allowed two hits and six runs over three and a third innings, striking out nine.

Diego Suarez, Michael Dawkins, and Zabiel Pabon all managed multiple hits for Puerto Rico.

GAME 2: SAN ANTONIO, TX 16, YOUNGSVILLE, LA 5

San Antonio, TX was victorious over Youngsville, LA, 16-5.

Youngsville, LA captured the lead in the first inning. Lane Glrouard drove in one when he singled.

San Antonio, TX took the lead and ran with it with five runs in the second inning. Ethan Guzman singled, scoring two runs, Alonzo Botello had an RBI scoring one run, Miguel Adames singled scoring one run and Solomon Hernandez singled scoring one run.

Luke Bible got the start for San Antonino, TX. He pitched one inning, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one.

Glrouard was on the mound for Youngsville, LA. He lasted one inning, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Hudson Derge went 2 for 2 at the plate to lead Youngsville, LA in hits. Youngsville, LA had 11 stolen bases, with Derge leading the way with three.

San Antonio, TX had 18 hits. Adames led the way with four hits in five at bats. Five players stole at least two bases, Adames led the way with three.

GAME 3: SAN ANTONIO, TX 10, PUERTO RICO 0

San Antonio, TX defeated Puerto Rico 10-0 on Saturday.

San Antonio, TX added four runs in the fifth inning. Alonzo B had an RBI stolen base in the inning.

Puerto Rico had one hit; Dylan Irizarry singled to center field.

Lane E was on the mound for San Antonio, TX. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Ian T was the starting pitcher for Puerto Rico. He surrendered nine runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out two.


GAME 4: YOUNGSVILLE, LA 7 LAREDO, TX 17

 Laredo, TX was victorious over Youngsville, LA, 17-7.

Laredo, TX collected 14 hits and Youngsville, LA had four.

The big inning for Laredo, TX was the third inning, scoring eight.  Two walks by Alejandro Gonzalez and Javier Viera allowed two runners on base. A single by Sage Hennessey and Tristan Rodriguez scored two runs. Three more singles from Jacob Rivera, Pedro Cisneros and Viera added into the eight runs.

Jacob Gonzalez was on the mound for Laredo, TX. He allowed two runs on one hit over one and one third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Porter Schwartzenburg got the start for Youngsville, LA. He allowed eight hits and eight rus over two and a third innings, striking out two.

Jason Dominguez went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead Laredo, TX in hits. Laredo, TX stole 18 bases, four players stole more than one. Alejandro led the way with five.

2021 DAY TWO RECAP

GAME 5: SIMI VALLEY, CA 5, LAREDO, TX 3

Simi Valley was victorious over Laredo, TX, 5-3 on Sunday.

In the first inning, John Vargas doubled to center field scoring one run. The second run came from wild pitch.

Simi Valley pulled away in the third inning when Riely Loggins hit a triple to right field. A singled from Giovani Magana added another run.

Kade Monica was on the mound for Simi Valley, CA. He went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out ten.

Tristan Rodriguez was on the mound for Laredo, TX. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out six.

GAME 6: WINTER PARK OPTIMIST 10, SAN ANTONIO, TX 6

San Antonio, TX did not give up without a fight against Winter Park Optimist.

Both teams had strong appearances at the plate. Winter Park Optimist collected sixteen hits while San Antonio, TX had three.

San Antonio, TX got on the board in the first inning when Eric Sanchez had an RBI.

Winter Park Optimist had a big fourth inning scoring seven runs. Isaiah McDowell singled scoring one run, Carter Shoffner double scoring two runs, Ridge Watson doubled scoring one run, and Bennett Bush doubled scoring two runs.

Leading San Antonio’s offense was Lane Elwood, Luke Bible, and Ethan Guzman who all drove in multiple runs.

Tristan Stewart was on the mound for Winter Park Optimist. He allowed zero hits and one run over one inning, walking one.

Elwood got the start for San Antonio, TX. He went three innings, allowing eight runs on twelve hits and striking out two.

Bush went 3 for 4 at the plate for Winter Park Optimist.

GAME 7: PUERTO RICO 15, YOUNGSVILLE, LA 2

Puerto Rico’s offense was strong in the first inning leading to 15-2 win over Youngsville, LA.

Diego Suarez, Wilner Chimelis, Dylan Irizarry, Zabiel Pabon, and Daylan Adames each drove in the runs for Puerto Rico.

Suarez was on the mound for Puerto Rico. He allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out six.

Lane Glrouard got the start for Youngsville, LA. He gave up twelve runs on ten hits over one and one third innings, striking out two and walking one.

Puerto Rico tallied thirteen hits. Irizarry led the way with three hits in three at bats.

Kenner Boquet went 2 for 2 for Youngsville, LA.

2021 DAY THREE RECAP

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: SIMI VALLEY, CA 4, WINTER PARK OPTIMIST 2

Simi Valley, CA scored early and kept the lead throughout the game despite the battle from Winter Park Optimist.

Ean Devine hit a single for Simi Valley in the first inning. He stole second putting him in scoring position for Sawyer Jackson.  Jackson singled to right field scoring Devine, giving Simi Valley 1-0.

Jackson got the start for Simi Valley. He allowed four hits and one run, striking out three and walking one.

Tristan Stewart was on the mound for Winter Park Optimist. He gave up three runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one.

Stewart led Winter Park Optimist in hits. He went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Simi Valley had twelve hits in the game. Nathan Griswold, Jackson, Leo Talbot, and Devine all had multiple hits. In total, the team stole eleven bases. Griswold led the way with two.
